Hushed Voice
With the technique Hushed Voice, whenever you speak to a student during supported practice, you focus on using as quiet a voice as possible.
Why use this technique?
Hushed Voice makes it less likely that other students will start to talk and go off-task, which they often do as soon as they hear voices in the room. Often, the sound of voices tiggers the mindset, ‘It’s okay to talk’, when actually, it’s not.
Focused reflection
How well do you currently use this technique?
Is it a technique you will focus on developing?
If so, what are the key features you will focus on (things to do, and not do)?
