Model It
With the technique, Model It, deliberately, you focus on exemplifying the standards and behaviours you expect of students. For example, you might:
Set out your board work exactly as you want students to set out their work.
Ensure you and your classroom are well organised.
Use positive body language as much as possible, such as by smiling.
Use a warm tone of voice, particularly when working on a one-to-one or small group basis.
Why use this technique?
Model It can help create and maintain a culture of high expectations. If you exemplify high standards, it is more likely students will, too.
